The Snippet is a student-only social platform built for honest, anonymous, and respectful
expression within college communities. These guidelines exist to keep that space safe and worth coming
back to. By using the platform, you agree to follow these rules.
Remember: While your Lowkey Profile is anonymous to other users, it is
internally linked to your verified student identity. Violations of these guidelines are traceable and
will result in action.
1. Be Respectful
Treat every member of the community with basic dignity. Disagreements are fine — harassment is not.
Do not target, bully, or repeatedly antagonise specific individuals.
Do not post content designed to humiliate, shame, or intimidate someone.
Avoid slurs, derogatory language, or content that demeans people based on gender, religion, caste,
sexuality, disability, or any other identity.
2. Keep It Real (and Honest)
Authenticity is core to what we are building. Do not distort reality in ways that harm others.
Do not spread misinformation, rumours, or fabricated claims about individuals, institutions, or events.
Do not impersonate another student, faculty member, or any real person.
Do not create multiple accounts to manipulate votes, reactions, or visibility.
3. No Explicit or Harmful Content
Zero Tolerance: Content that sexualises minors, promotes self-harm, or incites violence will
result in immediate and permanent account suspension, and may be reported to law enforcement.
Do not post sexually explicit material of any kind.
Do not post content that glorifies, encourages, or provides instructions for self-harm or suicide.
Do not post threats of violence towards any person or group.
Do not share graphic or disturbing content without a clear community purpose.
4. Protect Others' Privacy
Anonymity is a privilege extended to you — do not use it to violate someone else's privacy.
Do not share someone's personal information (phone number, address, photos, etc.) without their
explicit consent. This includes sharing screenshots of private conversations.
Do not out someone's identity, sexuality, or personal circumstances without consent.
Do not use the platform to stalk, track, or monitor another user's location or activity.
5. No Spam or Misuse
The platform exists for genuine community interaction, not for promotion or manipulation.
Do not post repetitive, irrelevant, or off-topic content (spam).
Do not use the platform to advertise products or services outside of the Student Marketplace feature.
Do not use bots, scripts, or automated tools to interact with the platform.
Do not attempt to exploit, hack, or reverse-engineer any part of the application.
6. Confessions & Lowkey Posts
The anonymous confession feature is one of the most sensitive parts of The Snippet. Use it responsibly.
Confessions must be about your own feelings or experiences — not callout posts targeting identifiable
individuals.
Do not use confessions to indirectly name, hint at, or identify a specific person in a harmful way.
Content that is clearly intended to be a disguised harassment post will be removed regardless of
phrasing.
7. Enforcement
We take violations seriously. Depending on the severity, consequences may include:
Content Removal: The offending post or comment is deleted.
Warning: A formal notice is issued to your account.
Temporary Suspension: Your account is restricted for a defined period.
Permanent Ban: Your account is permanently removed from the platform.
Legal Referral: In cases of serious harm, your identity may be disclosed to
authorities as required under Indian law (IT Act, 2000 & IT Rules, 2021).
8. Reporting
If you see content that violates these guidelines, please report it using the in-app report button. You can
also reach our support team directly at support@thesnippet.app. All reports are reviewed
by our moderation team.
